What to Expect

Structured learning for therapists who want to bring PCRDM into their work with individuals and families.

Instruction introduces the model’s two developmental arcs, the Listening, Opinion, and Freedom stages, and the changing steering role between parent and adult child. The focus is on using this perspective to understand how developmental changes can affect expectations, communication, and conflict.

Clinical examples and discussion explore how to introduce the model to clients, use its diagram to support therapeutic conversations, and consider both people’s experiences. Participants examine how insight and empathy can support understanding while respecting individual circumstances and relationship boundaries.

Time for questions and reflection helps therapists connect the material to their own practice. Each CE offering identifies its learning objectives, credit hours, and completion requirements.
